Speak Google's native language.
Structured data is how Maps, rich results and answer engines understand exactly who you are. Fill the form, copy the code.
Paste before </head> on your homepage (and the FAQ block on any page with those questions). Validate at search.google.com/test/rich-results.
Two blocks of code that tell machines exactly who you are.
A business block, built from the facts you type
Name, website, phone, street address, city, region, postcode, country, opening hours, price range, a short description, your social profiles and, if you have them, the latitude and longitude of the door. They go into one LocalBusiness block of the type you pick: a general professional service, or something more exact like Dentist, Restaurant, LegalService or RealEstateAgent. Nothing is added that you did not enter.
A question-and-answer block, only when you write one
Each question with an answer becomes part of a FAQPage block. Questions left empty are dropped, so the code never carries a placeholder. Add as many as your page genuinely answers.
The same code our own agent writes
The generator uses the same builder our SEO agent uses when it proposes schema for client sites, so the output is the structure we put live ourselves, not a one-off template.
Paste it once, in the right place
The business block belongs in the head of your homepage, or of your contact page if that is where your address lives. The question block belongs only on the page where those questions and answers are visible to a reader. Markup describing text nobody can see is against Google's rules.
Test it before you trust it
Paste your page address into Google's Rich Results Test. It reads the code the way Google does and names any field it cannot use. A typo in a phone number or a missing postcode shows up there in seconds.
Match everything else, exactly
The name, address and phone in this code must match your Google Business Profile and your directory listings character for character. Structured data that disagrees with your profile is a reason for Google to trust neither.
Schema, answered.
Will this get me stars or FAQ dropdowns in Google?
Not by itself. Google decides which rich results to show, and since 2023 it shows FAQ dropdowns only for well-known government and health sites. The markup still matters: it states your business details and your answers in a form search engines and AI assistants read without guessing.
Which business type should I choose?
The most specific one that is true. A dental practice is a Dentist, not a LocalBusiness. If none fits, ProfessionalService is the safe choice for most service firms.
Do I need the latitude and longitude?
No, they are optional. They help when your address is hard to place on a map, such as a unit in a large complex or a new development.
I use WordPress. Where does the code go?
Any plugin that adds code to the site header will do, or your theme's header settings. If an SEO plugin already outputs LocalBusiness schema, fill in its fields instead, so the page does not carry two versions of your business.
