Who links to them but not to you?
Your website and up to three competitors. We list the domains that link to them and not to you, ranked by authority and by how many of your rivals each one already links to, with how to get the link yourself.
The sites that already link to your competitors, and how to reach them.
Their links, minus yours
Enter your domain and up to three rivals. We list every domain linking to them and not to you — the sites that already write about your industry and have already decided to link out.
Ranked by how many rivals each one links to
A directory linking to one competitor may be a coincidence. One linking to all three is a fixture of your industry, and the most likely to say yes to you.
With how to get each one
Every opportunity is labelled by type — directory, association, supplier page, press, resource list — because the approach for each is completely different, and a generic outreach email to all of them works on none.
Chase the ones you can actually get
Trade associations, supplier and stockist pages, local business directories and industry resource lists are winnable this month. National press is not, and treating both the same is why most link building stalls.
Count domains, not links
Fifty links from one site is worth roughly one site. A dozen new domains will move you further than a hundred more links from places that already link to you.
A gap is not always a loss
Some links exist because a competitor is a member, a sponsor or a supplier. If the reason does not apply to you, skip it — pursuing it wastes the month.
Before you trust the number.
Where does the link data come from?
Public link sources plus our own crawl of the linking pages. It will not be exhaustive — no link index is — but every domain listed is one we verified is linking right now, not one that linked two years ago.
How many links do I actually need?
Fewer than you think, and better. For most local and mid-market businesses, ten to twenty genuinely relevant domains changes the picture. Relevance beats volume, and beats authority scores.
Should I buy links?
No. Paid link networks are the most common cause of the manual penalties we are asked to clean up, and the cleanup costs more than the links did. Everything on this list can be earned.
We close link gaps for a living.
